SDE Optimizing Conditions

ASDE surveys all SDE communities/programs about how they provide, enhance, or align with each of the Six Optimizing Conditions for young people to succeed in SDE.  Survey answers:
  1. Responsibility – Everyone is responsible for their own learning. As a community, we help and support everyone in their own journey.
  2. Youth Autonomy – Real freedom to pursue their interests and passions for as long as they want.
  3. Access to Tools and Technology – Everyone can bring any tools they like, most of them bring laptops or ipads. They also bring toys, sporting equipment, books, materials for arts and crafts. The place has access to a lake and all sort of sports.
  4. Adult Allies – Staff members are part of the learning community, eager to play, talk, and have fun while being there for anyone that may need support.
  5. Free Age Mixing – We have open spaces that everyone has free access to. We have members from 4 years old up, going up to 18 plus the adults that are part of the staff.
  6. Community – Every voice and vote count in this community. Rules, budget, and all decisions are taken together as a democracy.
