Faut-il aller à l’école? [Should we go to school?]
Description
[Translated from French]
Should we go to school?
The Luxembourg Association for Freedom of Instruction (ALLI asbl) aims to advance the right to education in accordance with the guiding principles of fundamental rights, thus paving the way for greater effectiveness of fundamental freedoms for all.
During this session, we propose, in a short introduction, to recall the founding ethical principles of the right to education, and then to question the contemporary reality from this point of view.
The question will then arise: “Should we go to school?”
To answer this question, we invited Bertrand Stern – an independent philosopher – who has been defending the freedom of education in Germany for almost 50 years.
On the French side, we will interview Daliborka Milovanovic, founder of the GRRÉ (Group for Research and Reflection on Education), publisher of books on childhood and education and currently president of the OVEO (Observatory of Ordinary Educational Violence).
A time of open exchange with the public to answer their questions will close the session.
