Description

The Two Loops Model about paradigm shifts uses the term hospicing to refer to helping an old paradigm to die with dignity. In this session, Mia Schmallenbach, Derry Hannam and Charlie Moreno-Romero will be sharing their latest thoughts on how public schools can bridge between the old and the new.

Mia is the producer of the QUEST documentary titled Suvemäe – Pioneer of Possibility, about a democratic, publicly funded school in Estonia. Charlie is the founder of the school, and Derry is the author of “Another Way is Possible: Becoming a Democratic Teacher in a State School”, and he has a 20% Proposal about how schools can begin to pull education into alignment with human rights.

People are encouraged to watch the documentary and read Derry’s 20% proposal in advance of the session.

Part of the LearningPlanet Festival, where thousands are joining in person and online to celebrate education, collaboration, and learning for a better future.
