Wildwood ALC (Agile Learning Community) is a nonprofit, mixed-age, self-directed education community for children ages 6 to teens in Boone, NC. Boone is a beautiful small mountain town, perfect for anyone who loves the outdoors. Wildwood operates 3 days/week from September-May. We are hiring for two positions, beginning late August/September 2022:

(1) Facilitator: We are seeking individuals who are grounded in the perspective of trusting children, committed to fostering curiosity and individual empowerment, and able to connect with young people in a way that builds connection and inspires fun learning experiences. Find out more at here.

(2) Director/Facilitator: We are searching for someone with a passion for self-directed education, a desire to take a leadership role in our ALC community, and ideally experience working with children and families in an SDE context. We are open to tailoring the specific roles/responsibilities of this position to the skills, experience, and interests of the person who fills it, so there is a great deal of flexibility and possibility of co-creation.
